Introduction to the subject group

Research Group on Electrical Energy Storage and Conversion, Huazhong University of Science and Technology.

The Research on Electricity Storage and Transformation Group was established in 2015, relying on the State Key Laboratory of Advanced Electromagnetic Technology, School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, mainly committed to the research and application of electrochemical energy storage technology for dual-carbon targets.

Jia Xie,

the Professor and doctoral supervisor at Huazhong University of Science and Technology, recipient of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, selected for the Youth Project of the National High-level Talents Program, Chief Scientist of the Key R&D Program of the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Youth 973 Project, Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry, Deputy Director of the Advanced Electrical Materials and Devices Research Center, and Vice Chairman of the IEEE PES China Energy Storage Materials and Devices Technology Sub-Committee. He received his bachelor's degree from Peking University in 2002 and his doctoral degree from Stanford University in 2008. He has served as a senior researcher at Dow Chemical in the United States and as the director of the Hefei Guoxuan High-Tech Research Institute. His main research focus is on electrochemical energy storage, where he leads several national-level projects, including key R&D plans in the field of energy storage batteries, the Youth 973 Program, and key joint fund projects. As the first person responsible, he has won the Xinjiang Science and Technology Progress Award, the China Electrotechnical Society Science and Technology Progress Award, and the First Youth Science and Technology Award. He has published over 200 SCI papers as the first or corresponding author and holds more than 100 authorized patents. He also serves as an editorial board member of Energy Storage Science and Technology and an academic editor of Interdisciplinary Materials.

Zeng Ziqi is an associate researcher at the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Huazhong University of Science and Technology. She received her Bachelor and Doctor of Science degrees from the School of Chemistry and Molecular Science, Wuhan University in 2013 and 2018 respectively. From 2018 to 2021, she worked as a postdoctoral researcher in Professor Xie Jia's research group, and is now a lecturer in the School of Electrical Engineering of Huazhong University of Science and Technology. She has been engaged in the research and development of electrochemical energy storage technology and functional electrolyte materials for a long time, focusing on the structure-function relationship between electrolyte composition, structure and interface. He has published more than 40 papers in top international journals such as Nature energy, Advanced Energy Materials, and Energy & Environmental, and has been funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China Youth Foundation and China Postdoctoral Science Foundation. As the core staff of the project, he participated in two key projects of the National Nature United Fund and a number of horizontal projects.
