Li₃PS₄ solid electrolyte has the advantages of high ionic conductivity, wide electrochemical window, and low cost. It is a very representative sulfide solid electrolyte and has been widely studied in recent years. In this paper, the structure mechanism and preparation route of Li₃PS₄ solid electrolytes are reviewed by discussing the recent literature on Li₃PS₄ solid electrolytes. The strategies and research progress of Li₃PS₄ solid electrolytes in improving ionic conductivity, improving chemical / electrochemical stability, and strengthening mechanical properties are summarized and analyzed. Finally, the high-performance all-solid-state batteries based on Li₃PS₄ solid electrolyte and various anode and cathode materials in recent years are summarized. Based on the above analysis, this paper also points out the shortcomings of the current Li₃PS₄ solid electrolyte and looks forward to the future research focus and development direction of Li₃PS₄ and other sulfide electrolytes.
