On the afternoon of May 18, 2024, at 13:00, the "Research on electricity storage and transformation group graduation thesis defenses" was held in Conference Room A718 of the New Electrical Building. The PhD thesis topics of Zhang Han, Lei Sheng, and Tian Gangling were: " Designing Fluorinated Aromatics-Based Diluted Highly Concentrated Electrolyte for Lithium Metal Batteries" " Design of Electrolytes Driven by Non-coordinating Co-solvents and Study of Lithium Transport Kinetics," and Research and Application of Lithium Battery Thick Electrode Construction and Energy Storage System’s Thermal Electrical Management," respectively. The Master's thesis topics of Chen Shuai, Liao Cong, and Wang Xinlan were: " Study on Doping Modification and All-solid-state Battery Performance of Li2ZrCl6 Solid Electrolyte," " Doping Modification of Iodine-based Lithium Argyrodite Electrolytes and Construction of All-Solid-State Batteries," and "Study on the Performance of Thermally Stable Fluorinated Additives for Lithium Battery Electrolytes" All the theses were supervised by Professor Xie Jia.
The defense committee was chaired by Professor Zeng Dawen, with committee members including Professor Hu Xianluo, Professor Shen Yue, Professor Fang Yongjin (Wuhan University), Professor Lin Xiangning, Professor Chen Xia, and Senior Engineer Zhang Kanjun (State Grid Hubei Electric Power Research Institute). Lecturer Zeng Ziqi served as the defense secretary.
During the defense, the students responded to questions from the committee members one by one and noted down the suggestions for thesis revisions. After discussion and anonymous voting by the defense committee, all committee members unanimously agreed to pass the thesis defenses of the six students and recommended awarding PhD degrees to Zhang Han, Lei Sheng, and Tian Gangling, and Master's degrees to Chen Shuai, Liao Cong, and Wang Xinlan. The thesis defense was successfully concluded.
Congratulations again to PhD students Zhang Han, Lei Sheng, and Tian Gangling, and Master's students Chen Shuai, Liao Cong, and Wang Xinlan for successfully completing their thesis defenses. We wish you all continued success in your future endeavors!
