Congratulations to Dajin Liu for his research paper " Preparation of SiOx@TiO2@N-doped carbon composite using chitin as carbon precursor for high-performance lithium storage "accepted by Journal of Alloys and Compounds
Abstract
In order to alleviate the volume expansion of SiOx and improve the electron conduction and ion conductivity, we prepared nitrogen-doped carbon (NC) and TiO2 double coated SiOx composite SiOx@TiO2@NC using chitin as carbon precursor system. TiO2 coating layer can not only ensure the uniform and stable dispersion of nano SiOx in chitin alkaline solution, but also improve the lithium ion conductivity of the composite. The nitrogen-doped carbon derived from chitin can also improve the conductance of electrons and ions. Therefore, SiOx@TiO2@NC composites exhibit excellent magnifying and cycling capacity, maintaining 633 and 540 mAh g-1 discharge specific capacities at 0.5 and 1 A g-1 current density 650 cycles, respectively, with a capacity retention rate of over 90%. This work has the significance of turning waste into treasure, and provides a new idea for the industrial application of chitin in the field of lithium ion battery.
