Congratulations to Dr. Chen Xin from the research group for a paper accepted by the international authoritative journal "Journal of Energy Chemistry"! The topic of the thesis is "Facile synthesis of Li2S@C composites as cathode for Li–S batteries".
In this article, the researchers prepared a carbon-coated lithium sulfide/carbon nanotube composite nanomaterial (Li2S@C-CNT) by spray drying in two steps. The role of carbon nanotubes is to make the distribution of lithium sulfate more uniform, reduce the agglomeration of phenolic resin, and finally generate nano-scale lithium sulfide after heat treatment. In addition, the interwoven carbon nanotube network framework can be used as a three-dimensional conductive framework to improve the electronic contact between Li2S@C particles. Through this reasonable structural design, the carbon-coated nano-lithium sulfide/carbon nanotube composite material exhibits good structural stability and electrochemical performance.
